Opening Night of "Theatre with a Twist" to raise money for KB Paws

Proceeds from ticket sales for the opening night of "Theatre with a Twist", the Goldfields Repertory Club's 2009 season of One Act Plays, will go to the Rep Club's 2009 Community Charity, KB Paws.

Every year, the Rep Club donates money from programme sales, tea and coffee sales, Christmas raffle proceeds to a local charity, which in the past have included the Little Sisters of the Poor, and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. This year, we have chosen KB Paws, to assist them with the great animal welfare work they do in our community.

Please help us help them, and buy tickets to the opening night, Wednesday September 9, to "Theatre with a Twist". Find out more about KB Paws at their website http://www.kbpaws.org/

Audition alert!

Auditions for the Goldfields Repertory Club's season of one act plays will be held next Tuesday.
There are roles for six males and four females aged 18 years and up.
The show is the perfect opportunity for people who had always dreamed of being on stage, but weren’t sure if they have the courage for a full length production

Murder Play, a thriller directed by Abigail Ayers, is about two couples who awake from a night of celebration to find one of their friends is no longer alive.

Ms Ayers said she loved the play as soon as she read the script, especially the twist at the end.

The Ambush, directed by Tim Sadleir and written by by club-stalwart Travis Hooper, is about a man who tries to set up his sister with a work colleague, who is attracted to someone else.

Mr Sadleir said he liked the script's sit-com style of humour.

The auditions will be held on Tuesday, August 4 at the Brookman Street Theatre at 7pm.

For more information call club president Lauren  Chapman on 0408 921 269.

Thanks to all our Volunteers!

Many thanks to the dedicated Reppies who came down and helped out at the Mayor's Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fundraising Auction on Saturday February 21.

Travis Hooper, Clare Fleming, Ben Anderson, David Holle, Tim Sadleir and Alison Allen all flew volunteered their time, and flew the flag for the GRC, putting their RSA qualifications to good use serving behind the bar, clearing away empties and washing glasses til midnight. Thanks to all of you! More than $50,000 was raised at the event, and will all be donated to charities helping those affected by these devastating fires.
